Dan and I love to cook but we also LOVE to eat and try new restaurants. Houston has a pretty amazing food scene with plenty of experimental restaurants, fancy tasting menus, authentic ethnic food, and lots of deliciousness.
We have started working our way through this list of the Top 100 Restaurants in Houston.
#2 Kata Robata
#13 Dolce Vita
#70 Kenny and Ziggy's- which my grandparents love so much they went twice while here for our wedding
#86 Beaver's Icehouse - we love this place and always try to take visitors here!
You can check out my tag Houston Eats for our random restaurant adventures.
Other Houston things you should do:
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo takes up the whole month of March- there's a carnival, fair food, bull riding, calf roping, a chili cookoff and more Texas-y goodness.
Johnson Space Center Chili Cookoff in April. Open to the public, all the chili you can eat and beer/soda/water you can drink for $10 entry, mostly NASA participants. Here's our previous visits: One and Two
Houston Restaurant Weeks takes up the whole month of August now. Restaurants offer three course dinners for a fixed price, as well as sometimes lunches and brunches, with a portion of each going to the Houston Food Bank. A perfect time to give a new restaurant a try.
